We’re not really net makers here at Fourteenacre, although we do recognise the skill and craftsmanship that goes into a hand-made net.
We’ve had a few requests for net gauges, the spacers that are used when tying a net, so I thought I’d have a go at making one from a rectangular aluminium blank. It turned out to be a lot easier than I thought.
Here are the tools and equipment that you need: A suitable blank of aluminium or other material, a flat file, a nail file or emery board, a sponge kitchen scourer, an egg cup, a five pence piece and a pencil.
