Squirrel Traps

We are sometimes asked why we don’t sell live catch cage traps for squirrels. As a non-native species it is illegal to release captured Grey Squirrels back into the wild in the UK. Many people lack the practical and emotional ability to dispatch a captured squirrel humanely and it’s usually the squirrel who suffers as a result.  A well made, tested and approved spring trap provides a quick, effective an humane result with minimal distress to all parties.

HOWEVER Lethal squirrel traps MUST ONLY be used to control grey squirrels.  Native red squirrels are protected by law and if trapping in an area where Red Squirrels may be present only cage traps may be used.
