Cage Comb

Description

We have always recommended that a well set, legal, lethal spring trap is the most effective, efficient and humane way to control squirrels.  However in some circumstances this is just not possible.  In areas where Red Squirrels may be present or where Pine Martens are spreading a cage trap is the only viable option.

A cage comb is a useful tool which enables the trapper to maneuver anything caught in the cage into a better position for dispatch.  Best used in pairs.

Cage traps carry an even greater responsibility for the user because no animal must be caught and left to die in a cage trap – whether the intended target or an accidental catch.  This is a far worse death than any spring trap.  What is more the user must be prepared to deal with the animals caught and dispatch any target species in an efficient and humane manner, with minimum distress the the captive.
